Homer Kite Fest was a Success

Yes, it was three days of 55 degrees, drizzling rain, and little wind. But, Sunday was sunny and the winds increased to a rock steady 12 to 14 knots or so by the afternoon. This is perfect weather for land based beginner kite lessons. And that was what the festival was about – introducing newbies to the sport.

Driving back to Anchorage Sunday evening I saw one of the best rainbows of my life. It was two double rainbows interlaced together as two rain fronts swept down Turnagain Arm. The photo was taken at the Beluga Point turnout.
